Here are the instructions for this momth's project - Molding Small Molded Figurines, toys, Bears

Materials Needed:

* Mold-making silicone for 5 inch tall bear
App.1200 grams of silicone, depending
upon size of the bear.

* 12 grams (10%) silicone catlyst)

* 1/2 Gallon or 1 Gallon kit SWD 957 castable
Polyurethane Elastomer

* De-molding spray or good paste wax

* Bear figurine to be molded

Support Materials Needed

* 4 Small paper cups

* 4 Tongue depressors or small paint mixing
sticks

* 4 one inch paint brushes with brushes
cut to one inch in length

* 1 Pair latex gloves

* 1 Safety glasses

Preparation Instructions

1) Prepare clean work area with flat surface

2) Clean bear to be molded with warm soapy
water and let dry

3) Spray bear figurine with demolding spray or apply ample paste wax reaching all areas well

4) Place bear figurine on the flat work surface

5) Pour 40 grams of mold-making silicone into a small paper cup

6) Add 4 grams (10 %) of catalyst to the silicone and mix thoroughly for two minutes

7) Pour and/or brush the silicone/catalyst mixture onto the bear figurine beginning at the top and working downward

8) Quickly work the first coat of silicone mixture well onto all surfaces including indentations recesses and finely detailed areas

9) Collect silicone mixture that reaches the work surface and re-apply to thin areas

10) Allow silcone to harden 4 hours before applying the next coat.

11) Repeat steps 2-through 7, two or three more times

12) Allow 24 hours for the silicone mold to comletely cure

13) Separate and remove the silicone mold from the figurine bear by carefully pulling from side to side and gently tugging the silicone mold off in the same way a letex glove might be removed from a hand

Casting a Bear Figurine from the Bear Silicone Mold

14) Invert the bear mold and place in a cup or other container in which the bear mold will fit. Level as necessary with paper towel

15) Combine 60 grams of SWD 760 Part A with 60 grams of SWD 760 Part B and mix together for 45 seconds

16) Pour the mixture into the mold base opening until the poured product is slightly higher than flush with the mold base as slight shrinkage will occur during cure to draw it back down to flush

17) Allow 30 minutes for the bear figurine to cure

18) Remove the mold arond the cast bear figurine as per mold-makig procedure in step 13

19) Paint or Decorate bear as desired
