Preparation Instructions

1) Clean animal mold and remove any old materials from previous mold activities

2) Apply paste wax well to all surfaces to be exposed to rigid poured polyurethane foam

3) Apply paste wax to all outside mold surfaces for easy removal of foam overflow, if any

4) Assemble and bolt together 2 part animal mold leaving pour area open

5) Spread plastic, cardboard or other covering on floor or other working area

6) Position pour foam entrance point of mold about 8 inches above lowest point of mold

Note: make sure the small vents, if any, are pointed up or at the highest point possible

7) Lay out remaining mold piece and nuts, bolts and 2 washers for quick access as needed.

8) Long shank power mixing tool should be ready, clean and close for fast access as needed.

9) Secure the partially open mold against falling during quick pour and final bolting process.

10) Plug vent holes with rolled paper towel so they can still blow out if necessary.

Mixing Instructions

11) Calculate the amount of SWD 760 ATF Flexible Poured Polyurethane foam to be mixed by using the following formula: Weigh and pour 1 Part A liquid and 2 parts B liquid into separate paper tubs. Make sure of accurate measuring equipment and weights prior to use.

12) Pour Part B into a 5 gallon mixing container

13) Note time in seconds on a clock next to you in preparation of pouring part A into the 5 gallon mixing bucket with Part B

14) Be prepared with paint stir stick to quickly remove remainder of part A into the 5 gallon

mixing bucket when you begin mixing. Have a small bucket of solvent next to you for power mixing blade immediately after mixing.

15) Very Important: Begin mixing well with power mixing tool and continue for 15 seconds only. Mixing speed on a hand drill with long mixing blade should be approximate 900 RPM.

16) Mixing person should quickly remove mixing blade and place in solvent. The 2nd person must quickly pour mixed A & B components into top pour foam opening. Allow 3-4 seconds of total pour time maximum.

17) Pour in such a manner to insure front and rear legs receive adequate product.

18) Replace open mold piece for pouring into the mold and bolt closed immediately using both persons to place, tighten bolts and close mold before foam rises. Allow 5-8 seconds of total time for replacing bolts. Rotate mold as able and time allows after mold is sealed.

19) Note: Foam will expand up to 30 times as it expands and will begin to ooze and/ or pour from any remaining open area in the mold after 30 seconds from time mixing began.

De-molding instructions

20) Allow 24 hours to harden before removal of molded animal from mold.

21) Record molded animal weight and compare to Part A & Part B weights

22) Remove overflow foam by hand if any, from the outside of the mold after it becomes sticky, somewhat solid and remains warm to the touch. Overflow or spill on cardboard or plastic may simply be rolled up and thrown away. Overflow on the ground may simply be thrown away.
